Ball and Modern Dance Classes

This year we are excited to offer additional classes for our advanced ballet students! These options are strongly recommended to enhance your student's ballet skills. Enrolled advanced students can take these classes in addition to their ballet instruction for only $20 per month each for enrolled ballet students!

Ball Class

Therapeutic ball class is integral in accelerating and facilitating the technique our students are working on in ballet class. Ballet technique develops larger muscle groups whereas the ball class allows smaller, core muscles to develop. This class has been designed to improve elasticity and to stretch and strengthen the entire body so that two things can happen: students can accomplish the rigors of a ballet class much faster and easier, and they are able to ward off debilitating injuries.

Ball class: 1 hour of stretch, strength and balance training offered twice weekly. Offered to Adv Gr III and up.

Modern Dance Class

Modern dance technique incorporates a variety of styles that focus on discipline, posture and alignment, earth bound movements and polyrhythms (layering rhythm on top of rhythm.) Floor work focuses on strengthening; center floor accumulation combinations are developed through warm-up exercises, across the floor progressions focus on stamina, and choreography incorporates elements of improvisation with structured composition. Students will explore and develop skills through abstract movements in choreography while enjoying a variety of music genres.

Modern Dance: 1 hour of modern dance techniques offered twice weekly. Offered to Gr IV and up.

Only $20 per month each!
